A Bit Discouraged

So today I have been extremely frustrated with my hair, but more myself. I wore a scarf all day because my hair was not working for me. I dont know if it is due to the fact that I havrnt washed it since the weekend but it was not working with me.
I know we all have bad hair days and really good ones so I guess today is just one of those days. But I dont like these days because although I am well aware of my ability to suck it up and just say screw it, I was really frustrated.
I wanted to share this with you guys because I know that at times we are frustrated with our hair and discouraged and to let you know that you are not alone. I have gone through my moments of being tempted to perm my hait but then I am brought into the reality of how badly I wanted to go natural and that this was just part of the motions, and that when I had a perm I was not always chipper about my hair.

But you know what guys I am dealing and so will you. Its normal. So today or whenever your not feeling your hair just do something you do like. For example wear your favorite article of clothing or jewelry or eyeshadow.

Love you for reading.

My Natural

So there has been a lot of debate going on about everyone following a trend of black women with natural hair. But I feel like for whatever reason an individual is doing it does it really matter? It is their natural. You have your natural I have mine, and they have theirs.

So I decided to make this post to highlight My Natural, and the reason behind me going natural.

I have gone through my share of hair styles from african braids, to tracks, to my permed hair. And in each of these I have had a wide range of cuts, and designs. But I have always wanted dreadlocks. From a young child, but my parents would tell me know I am too young to make such a permanent decision. Eventually that passed, but my longing to wear my hair in its natural state never passed. I would see these natural women with their fros, and bantu-knot outs and be amazed. Eventually a family friend went natural and I was so amazed by her courage and after a big debate with myself I decided to just do it.

Now that I have My Natural I could not be more in love. I like this side of me, and could careless who does not. I love myself, and embrace the real me no weave, no chemicals, just me. Now My Natural may be new, inexperienced, and different from yours, but that is what makes it mines, and I am happy with that.

So the next time you guys are wondering if you are following a trend, or have people questioning your motives just tell them this is My Natural, not yours.

Inspirations

Just in case you were feeling a bit discouraged, because I know I get that way at times. Here are some pictures of naturals some you may know, some you won't.

Two-strand twist

Hey guys.
So I decided to two-strand twist my hair after a nice co-wash and deep conditioning with Koils By Nature conditioner. I didn't take any pics of how it looked when it was in the twist-out state but next time I will!

I'll keep ya posted.

Decided to 2 stand twist my hair after a nice wash and deep conditioning.
I let this sit for a couple of days then take it out and have a beautiful twist out. (Sorry didn't take a pic)
